• Reverse osmosis (RO) is a process that uses a semi-permeable spiral-wound membrane to separate and remove dissolved solids, organics, pyrogens, sub-micron particulate matter, color, nitrates, and bacteria from water. The feed water is forced under pressure through the semi-permeable membrane, where water permeates through the tiny holes in the membrane, and is delivered as pure water called permeate. The impurities in the water are concentrated in the waste stream and are flushed to the drain, called concentrate.
